We want Chance to be a polite member of society, so we are very conscious of saying “Thank you” around our house right now. We know we’re living the good life – we have everything we need and a lot of things that we want – and we try to remember that every day. So, in no particular order, here are ten things we are thankful for:
1. We are thankful for our two-year old who is funny and curious and challenging and cute and smart and loving and wondrous. He reminds us of things in a visceral way, like how much it really hurts when you don’t get what you want and that placebos really do make you feel better.
2. We are thankful that we have family to love and family who love us enough to visit and be visited.
3. We are thankful for the clear nights when the moon and stars are out, and a child who never fails to notice.
4. We are thankful for the occasional problem of having too much food in our freezer.
5. We are thankful that we can try the quiet country life, and have time to enjoy it.
6. We are thankful for our friends everywhere who continually astound us with generosity and good will.
7. We are thankful to be gainfully employed in jobs that provide both financial gain and flexibility.
8. We are thankful that we had the opportunity to vote and did not have a television during the last election cycle.
9. We are thankful for the new adventures and the inspiration to pursue them.
10. We are thankful that we are happy and healthy.
I am thankful for your super wonderful family of 3 and the other super wonderful family of 3 and the other super wonderful family of 2 (plus K)....WOW, life is especially good. I am enjoying the curious 9 month old and awaiting the days to enjoy the curious 2 1/2 year old. Yes, life is sooooooo good. Glad you put it into words.................can't wait to be part of it!
